Dr. Akerke Baibergenova

MD, FRCPC, DABP, PhD, MPH

Dermatologist

Dr. A. Baibergenova is a Board-Certified Dermatologist (University of Toronto) and a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She also has a Master’s degree in Public Health (Albany University’s School of Public Health, NY, USA) and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology (McMaster University, Hamilton).

​

Dr. A. Baibergenova has extensive training in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. In addition to her clinical work, she has made substantial research contributions, particularly in medical dermatology and dermatoepidemiology. During her Dermatology residency training, she received the prestigious Everett C. Fox award by the American Academy of Dermatology and several awards by the Canadian Society for Investigative Dermatology for her research projects. Her original research manuscripts have been published in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and presented at national and international meetings.

Dr. Baibergenova’s professional affiliations include the Canadian Dermatology Association, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Society for Investigative Dermatology.

Dr. Michael Corbo

BHSc, MD, FRCPC, FAAD

Dermatologist

Dr. Michael Corbo completed his undergraduate degree at McMaster University in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program, finishing it in three years instead of four. He received his medical degree at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University as well. His dermatological training was completed at the University of Toronto, where he spent 5 years doing his residency.

Dr. Corbo is currently a member of the:

  • Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA)

  • Ontario Medical Association (OMA)

  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC)

  • American Academy of Dermatology (AAD)

 

Dr. Corbo teaches other doctors and professionals about dermatological conditions to broaden their knowledge and understanding of issues they may see in their own private practices. He has an extensive research background and has received many awards for his teaching and research endeavors, including:

Dr. Nina Jindal

MD, FRCPC, ABIM, ABAI

Clinical Immunology and Allergy

Dr. Jindal completed her Internal Medicine training at Queen’s University and pursued further sub-specialty training in Clinical Immunology and Allergy at the University of Toronto. She also works at St. Michael’s hospital in Toronto.

Dr. Shima Kassirian

MSc, MD, FRCS(C), FACS

General Surgeon

Dr. Shima Kassirian completed her surgical training at the University of Toronto, she has also obtained a Masters of Pharmacology and a MD degree from the same institution. She is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American College of Surgery. Her area of interests include surgical oncology and oncoplastic surgery. Her hospital privileges are at Mount Sinai hospital.

Dr. Kassirian has a University of Toronto teaching appointment through which she is actively engaged in teaching medical students, residents, and in curriculum development.

​

At the Oak Ridges Surgi-Center, her clinical practice is focused on the surgical treatment of dermal lesions, both malignant and for curative intent, as well as  benign for cosmetic purposes. Through performing a very high volume of procedures, she has become one of very few surgeons with an extensive experience in the field of surgical treatment of skin lesions in the province of Ontario.

Dr. Seema Rathee

MD, CCFP

Family Doctor with interest in Dermatology

Dr. Seema Rathee graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in Nova Scotia in 1990. She completed her internship training at the University of Toronto and was awarded a fellowship in family medicine by the College of Family Physicians in 2008 for her dedication to continuing education. Although trained as a family physician, Dr. Rathee worked in the field of dermatology in tandem with a successful family practice for the first 15 years of her career. As her passion for medical and cosmetic dermatology grew, she decided to leave family practice in 2006 to focus her entire energy toward skin and skin diseases. She received a Diploma in Practical Dermatology with distinction from Cardiff University in Wales in 2014 and has worked as a tutor in the program since graduating. Dr Rathee is a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Canada and the Canadian Association of Aesthetics Medicine.

Dr. Rathee joined Oak Ridges Dermatology Centre in February 2016. She is trained in both Botox and Hyaluronic Acid Fillers and strives to create a youthful but natural look for her patients using these non-invasive techniques. Her compassionate and caring nature, along with her dedication to continuing education gives her patients both comfort in her approach and confidence in her expertise.

Dr. Monika Winnicki

MD, FRCP(C)

Dermatologist

Dr. Monika Winnicki is a board-certified dermatologist, having graduated from dermatology residency training at the University of Toronto in 2010. Part of her training was also completed at University of Montreal in Montreal, QC, and she is fluent in French, as well as English and Polish.

Dr. Monika Winnicki obtained her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, ON in 2004, after completing her Bachelor of Sciences degree in life sciences at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON.

​

Dr. Monika Winnicki is affiliated with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where she is part of a multidisciplinary skin cancer clinic through the renowned Odette Cancer Centre. She is involved in research regarding non-melanoma skin cancer and in teaching medical students and residents.

​

Dr. Monika Winnicki has special interests in skin cancer, pediatric (child-specific) dermatology, and women’s skin issues including acne, hair loss, and vulvar skin disease.
